?I have a user request to change the number of allowed characters in ‘5718 Nonstock Item’, ‘No.’ from 20 characters to 30. I know I would have to also change it in table 27, Item table, but wondering where else?Ā  ILE? Sales Line? Sales Invoice Line? Looks like it could become a long list. Will also need to check my pages to ensure text will fit, but that’s minor.

      Thanks!

It is never recommended to change any part of the primary key for a base table. Or the length of any base field really. It is a guaranteed upgrade issue. It’s also not just other tables you would have to worry about changing. The value could be copied to other variables in the code that only allow up to 20 characters.Ā

If your users are need the additional character length I would recommend adding a new field of length 30 and using that to search / filter on.
