I turned on change logging for the Item table for a few fields.Ā  When I make a change to one of these fields, the change gets recorded.Ā  However, when one of my users makes a change it does not get recorded.Ā  I just did a Teams meeting with her to watch exactly what she’s doing – which is exactly what I’m doing!Ā  Still, her changes don’t get logged.Ā  What could be causing this?Ā  Am I missing something in the setup?

      Hi Yvonne

Have you made sure that the user has permission to Insert into the Change Log Entry table?

      Regards

The Change Log Management codeunit has indirect permission to insert into the Change Log Entry table.Ā  This means the user needs to have Indirect access to table 405 Change Log Entry.Ā  If he/she doesn’t then I would expect a permission error.Ā

I totally agree with restarting the service tier.Ā  In older versions the change log didn’t usually take effect until the user setting it up close out, but that may not be a thing anymore.

I am not sure why that would occur, but I would recommend restarting the NAV service when you can.

Thanks all for the feedback.Ā  It was in fact a permissions error.Ā  I granted permission to the Change Log Entry table and that worked.Ā  I did not have to restart NAV.
