We bring in an NDT company to do testing on fabricated units.  We show this using a routing step to a subcontract work center, and create a PO for scheduled work with the subcontracting worksheet. Sometimes, a unit needs re-testing, or is ready ahead or behind schedule, and it would be great to simply add this to the existing PO created by the subcontracted worksheet (many times we have already issued this number to the vendor), and enter the RPROD details to link it over, but it looks like NAV recognizes manually entered lines as inventory rather than a work step.  Right now we are deleting the entire PO, and recreating to add additional items, OR creating a 2nd PO which is causing problems while invoicing.  Has anyone been able to add a line to a subcontracted PO without it affecting inventory (keeping the PO # and link to RPROD)?

      Hello,

It is mandatory to go through the subcontracting worksheet to create the subcontracting order NAV. There are some other tables (sending items list) which also get updated with data while we create the subcontracting order from worksheet.

so if any change comes after subcontracting order created then it is only option to create new order in current NAV but it is possible to create a facility to add new line in the same previous subcontracting order by doing some customization in the system.

For e.g. in subcontracting worksheet after selecting vendor one more field can get introduced which shows existing subcontracting order and user select the appropriate order number against the line. on Carry out action message if the existing order number is selected then system will add new line in the same order or if it is not selected then will create new order.

Let me know, if you need any other help in this.

      Regards,
