We recently implemented Business Central and are making use of the workflow approval functionality for purchase orders.  It is my understanding that only the Approval Administrator (our payables administrator) and the person entering the purchase order (the purchaser) can see the approvals associated with that order number.

As the Controller, I would like to be able to view the approval workflow associated with a purchase order, or any approval workflow.  Is this possible?

      Thank you

Anyone with at least READ permissions to table 454 (Approval Entry) and EXECUTE permission for page 662 (Approval Request Entries) should be able to see a lost of the approval entries (orders approved, rejected, delegated).  You can also track order STATUS changes using the change log or just view the purchase order list to see the status of an order (OPEN, PENDING APPROVAL, RELEASED).  Of course you’ll get more detail from the approval entries or the change log.

If the Payables administrator is only going to approve Purchase orders, you can set them up as the Approver ID for the PO creators and assign yourself as the Approval administrator instead. This of course allows you to also approve other document workflows as well. If that cannot be done, then the read permissions stated below by Lewis will suffice for what your trying to do.
