BC Client Install

Is anyone else having issues installing the BC Client? It is a nightmare! You have to disable antivirus. If you download the CD, you can’t install from the downloads folder. I had to move the zip file to the Temp folder. There are file names that are too long. Come on Microsoft, you can do better!

You could use the web client and avoid any sort of installations.. That Windows client is going away soon.

@KyleĀ – We will be moving to the web client at some point. However, there is a reason we are using the desktop client.
We started an upgrade to BC in December. Yes, we were supposed to be live by now, but you know how that goes.
We upgraded our development and testing sites to the Spring 2019 edition. That is why I am installing the upgraded client.
Our plan is to go live on the desktop client due to its familiarity for our users. Once we feel the upgrade is stable, we will migrate the users to the web client. Once we make the transition, we will upgrade again. We figure 3 months of the desktop client and 3 months of the web client.?

Gregory,The file names being long is always an issue; my suggestion would be to extract the DVD in C:/Temp folder and run the setup as Administrator. I never saw a problem with antivirus being active; it could also depend on what antivirus you are using.
