      Since a recent upgrade from NAV2013R2 on premise to Business Central 14 on premise, I noticed that when I upload a single fob file into the Development Environment, it takes a long time and appears to build and object search index reviewing every object.  A similar upload used to take just seconds.  Is there a setting somewhere that changes this behavior?

      Hi Lewis,

      Building Object Search Index is the step which updates the references for the modern client.

      If you are not using the modern client (web client) you can cancel executing of this step.

      Thanks for the response, Saurav.  I hope you are well!

      We are still using the Windows Client.  This process used to take just seconds and now takes several minutes.   Based on your response, I assume this is expected behavior due to the modern client.

      Hi Lewis,

      I am good and hope you are doing well.

      Business Central 13 & 14 have this issue as both these versions have both client available (Modern & Windows). 

      To update the Search option for Modern client system tries to Build Object Search References in Version BC13 and BC14 only.

      As you are only using Windows client you can safely cancel this step during object import or object compilation.
