We are in the discovery/demo phase for an AP Automation solution to provide enhanced approval processes (web based/mobile device accessible) and OCR invoice scanning technology.

These vendors made it to our short list.  Does anyone have any experience with these vendors that they’d be willing to share?

We are currently installing Continnia with our upgrade to BC.  for us they made the short list because of the OCR, easy to use app and the workflow approvals, which for us are pretty complex.
Liberty Grove is the partner on this project. 
i’ll let you know how it goes.  should be ready for testing late this week!!

Hi Kari,

I recently implemented an AP Automation software.  It’s funny, cause that’s exactly what I called the project, “AP Automation”.

I looked at Medius Flow, Continia, Coupa, and Chrome River.

I really wanted to go with Continia because it was fully integrated with NAV but they ended up going radio silent after a couple of discovery sessions when I was doing my comparison.  I know another company in Canada that implemented it a couple years back and he’s quite disappointed because it does not handle Canada sales taxes (GST) very well.  I had an opportunity to watch a user attempt to use it at this other company and it appeared quite difficult to navigate.  So expect a learning curve here.

As for myself, I ended up implementing Chrome River.  The UI is extremely slick and easy to use.  There are several ways a user could complete the same task so the project sponsor dictated how she wanted the users to use the product and that’s how we trained.  Setup was quite difficult and it took a lot of time and effort to be able to launch the product.  However, that might have something to do with our chart of accounts not being straight forward.  The product is highly customizable which is good and bad.  The bad is that you go down a path that could take a lot of time to complete.  The good is that you can make it do almost anything you want.  The post go-live support at Chrome River is very good, the best I’ve every experienced.
