Disable Analytical Accounting?

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for disabling Analytical Accounting?Ā Further, our Accounting Department would like to “test” disabling AA in one company before disabling in all.Ā Is this possible?Ā I’m not finding any option to just disable, so I assume it’s a full unregister but I’m not finding any comprehensive information on it.Ā Thank you in advance——————————

Thanks, wow that is much easier than I anticipated!Ā One follow-up question — does that disable per company, or is that system level??Edit:Ā just looking at it a little further, it indicates ‘It is recommended that you do not unmark modules that you have already used because it can cause problems in Microsoft Dynamics GP’.Ā So to that I should add, AA has been used.Ā Does this change anything?

Just wanted to follow up to see if you had any thoughts regarding the fact that AA has been used.Ā Does that change the simplicity of just unregistering?Ā I assume that adds another element?Ā Thanks for any and all input!——————————

Hi
That’s the beauty of just un-registering it, it will disappear from the User Interface, stop requiring the transactions be categorized in AA, but the tables will remain in place for as long as you don’t manually remove them.
I would suggest (DEFINITELY) that if you upgrade or do installs, that you continue to ‘install’ AA so the tables get upgraded, but keep it unregistered so it does not actually affect anything.
That way, in 5 years, if you decide to use it again, and you’ve kept the tables upgraded then simply checking the button to register it again will make all of the functionality just ‘come back’.
But, unless someone purposefully removes the data it won’t go anywhere.?

Tracy,
Great tip from Jo.. if you decide that AA is no longer something you consider in GP, and don’t plan to use it again in the future, Microsoft does have some SQL scripts to check activation of AA by companies, and SQL scripts to remove all related AA SQL objects from each company and the System DB (DYNAMICS) in the end.——————————
