Sales order fulfillment override
Posted by Unknown Member on March 18, 2020 at 12:04 pm-
Is there anyone that’s using order fulfillment rate on the customer that has an occasion to ship a partial?Ā We are using Advanced warehouse management and thinking of using the 100% order fulfillment rate on customers so we don’t have partials release to warehouse.Ā The problem with this is when the customer has an order that isn’t at 100% and wants a partial.Ā How can we get this released?Ā Current thought is to change the order quantities to what is available and create a new SO for the balances.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi,
Have you considered using Delivery schedule? By using the Delivery schedule you can deliver what you currently have on stock and create a new sales order line for the remaining qty.
You can find more information about it hereĀ

TrentWe also have all of our customers set to 100% fulfillment so only complete orders get released. If we need to release a partial we go to the customer card and change the fulfillment to a small %, quantity & error. Then we release that sales order. We then go back to the customer and change it back to the 0.00, None, and Use Company policy. The only problem we have is when the customer does not get changed back. We then may get a sales order released as a partial that we did not want to.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.Ā
Lovisa,
I did test out delivery schedule and it still treated the quantities as the same and wouldn’t release.Ā Thanks for the suggestion.
Anna,
I did think of doing this as well, but we decided to update the quantities for the available inventory and then create a new SO for the balances.Ā Seemed less intrusive and could avoid leaving a customer setup incorrect. Ā
Thanks again for the suggestions, keep them coming.

?If you’re using D365, the release to warehouse function allows you to specify an override fulfillment policy for each line you’ve selected for release.Ā I don’t think the same option is available in AX 2012.

That’s good news Kevin.Ā We are making the move to D365, but it may be a year away.Ā I think we may be stuck with what we’re doing.
Thanks so much.

FYI, we are using the release to warehouse in warehouse management to manually override the fulfillment policy in R3.Ā This resolved our issue as we are only using either 100% fulfillment or allowing any size of partial if requested by the customer.Ā Surprised I didn’t catch this during modeling, but we did catch during testing.
Thanks for all the responses.
