Is there any way to easily post unit account information for historical years?  I have used Integration Manager to import information for current year and one prior historical year, but it will allow me to go no further.

I see that we can manually change information in the Account History screen for each unit account, but this seems laborious.

Is there any other way to get the information in quickly and easily?

      Thank you!!!

      Rachel,
Depending on the version of GP you are on, you could re-open GL back to the year you want to import into, do you imports, then reclose the years.  If you go with that plan you should definitely create a test company and run through the process completely to make sure the years re-close the same way they did originally.  If I were going to do this, I would print each year-end closing JE as well as a balance sheet and income stmt for each year I was going to re-open.  Then when going through the process in the test company I would tick and tie those reports in detail.
Not sure if it’s worth that effort, but maybe that will help.
      Thanks
      Windi

You can go back to the most recent historical year, as you probably know.

Otherwise, you’d have to look at using a SQL query to populate the tables from a spreadsheet.

It shouldn’t be difficult if you have somebody with SQL query abilities.

I would suggest either loading the unit accounts as a budget, or keeping them in Excel and using the “link to Spreadsheet” feature in FRx or Management Reporter. As alternative options.

It depends on why you need the units loaded, and what reporting you will be using.
