      Hello,

Does anybody know if there is a way to have certain filters saved as default in transaction enquiries for payables and sales?

For example – we would like only 2016 and 2017 transactions to show as default.

      Thanks,
      Lucinda

Not on the inquiry windows. The only thing you could do is have navigation list favorites and SmartList favorites for those date ranges.

      Hi Lucinda,

the enquiry wildow’s default is for open years, so you should see only 2016 and 2017 unless yo don’t close your periods.

in the history query you will see all the closed years.

      hope this helps

I wrote out the whole step by step instructions and it got lost on my phone before I hit post!! Grrrr

      I suggest a Macro:

      1. Close all GP windows
      2. Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Macro > Record
      3. save to a shared location
      4. navigate to the Inquiry Window via the Menu Bar (i.e. Inquiry > Sales > Transactions by Customer
      5. set the filters
      6. inside Inquiry Window click File > Tools > Macro > Stop Record (if you have a newer version it might be just Tools > Macro > Stop Record

the next steps will make it easy to access the macro:

      1. From the homepage, right-click on the Navigation Pane
      2. Add a shortcut to the Macro
      3. Right-Click on the new shortcut and choose “shortcut properties”
      4. assign a function key
      5. edit the description to have the function key listed (not required but makes it much easier to remember what button to hit!)

try hitting the function key now…it should open the window the way you want to see it!
