I had someone create a purchase order in error.  How do I delete it as it is not needed?

      Thank you,

      Jaime,

If it’s not released yet, you can just open the Purchase Order and Delete it. If it’s already released, you can Void it. Both Delete and Void are under Actions on the Purchase Order Entry window.

Just enter the quantity ordered in the quantity canceled field for all line items and print to screen.  This will close the purchase order.

Just for completeness a few other options to consider.

      1. Transactions>>Purchasing>Edit Purchase Order
      • If not yet been released delete it.
      • If PO has been released then you will need to void it then delete it.
      1. Transactions>>Purchasing>Edit Purchase Order
      • Cancel the PO document and all its line items by changed the status to canceled.
      1. Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Tools>>Routines>>Purchasing>>Remove Completed
        Purchase Order
      • Move the cancelled PO to History.
      1. Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Tools>>Utilities>>Purchasing>>Remove Purchasing History
      • Purge PO from History

What about a PO that has been fully received in GP?  Would it need to be reversed or can you void it and remove it?
