We have a product that was sold to a customer #1 (call it s/n XYZ).
      Customer #1 returned  (XYZ)
RMA was received in GP from customer #1
XYZ was resold to customer #2
XYZ was returned by customer #2
However, now GP will not let us receive XYZ on the RMA from customer #2 because it says it is already assigned to the 1st customer.
I am guessing something went wrong in the first RMA return?
Is there a way to unassign a serialized item from a customer and reassign to another?

Quickest way to find out what GP thinks is go to Inquiry, Serial/Lot Item trace, pull up the item and serial # and see what transactions are listed there.——————————————-

Yes, I am aware of that inquiry.  I just need to know how to remove a serial number from one customer and add to another.

      Thanks

      Hi Shelly,
A common mistake done when processing returns in GP is to oversee the checkbox for the RMA return.. that usually also takes care of the serial/lot numbers and puts the QTY back into inventory.. How was your return processed ?
Not sure you can fix the serial number issue after the fact easily in the system..
