When going into Transaction Entry in the Sales module we can enter the customer ID, sales amount and click the blue expansion arrow on the Tax field. As soon as we click the blue expansion arrow we get an error Wrong number of arguments to ‘Child_Box’.  If click OK on the error and select a Tax Detail ID anyway then get Unhandled Script exception Object has no reference. Dynamics GP 2016 16.00.0552 (R2)

Regarding your error message.  Are you using a software like Avalara or another to calculate sales tax for you or are you manually updating and maintaining that within GP yourselves?

If your using a service like Avalara then I would say contact them because it’s very possible that something isn’t setup correctly.  When you’re clicking on the blue arrow the system is looking for fields in a table that may not exist.

Hi, good question. No, there aren’t any third parties installed. This happens on our test system also, which definitely doesn’t have Avalara or any other third party software enabled. Happens with ‘sa’ login also.
