      Hello,
Is there any way that I can add summary of each Pay Code at the bottom of the Payroll Transaction Edit List. This way I don’t have to add each code every time to make sure my totals match. It now give total hours but I would like to have totals for each pay code that is in the list.  Not for sure how to do this in Report Writer. Any help would be much appreciated.
      Thanks!

      Hi Rachel,

This is possible.  However, you will need to add a calculated field for each total that you want to print.  So it may not be practical if you have a lot of pay codes.  You will also need to modify the report any time a new pay code is added.  There is another method using VBA and the DUOS.  It would eliminate the need to modify the report when a new pay code is added but is much more complicated to setup.

Here are some of the details for using the report writer only method.  I don’t have an example for adding a total for hours because I have only added totals for specific non-hourly pay codes to our Transaction Edit List.  This example shows a total for the “Charge Tips” pay code using the “Amount” calculated filed.  I think it will work for hours if you substitute the “Totals Hours” calculated field for Amount.

Here is the calculated field setup.

Here are the field options settings to give you a total for all employees.  Our footer is showing at the bottom to give you an idea of how we set it up.

Feel free to reach out if you have questions or if you are interested in the VBA method.
