      Dear Collaborators,

What a day! 56 in attendance for the Kickoff meeting of the new GPUG Green Bay Chapter at (need I say it?) storied Lambeau Field!

Here we all are after lunch, ready to start the 2nd half of the meeting with our 3rd & 4th educational sessions… oh! and GP Jeopardy, too!

I’ll post a longer report (with pictures!) on the Green Bay Community site once we’ve gone through the photos from our two photographers, Pam Hall and Tammy Corso (center of the front row above).

      Sincerely,

      Kathy,

Thank you. I have to say that I was so nervous about it getting off the ground (like, I dumped an entire pitcher of ice water off a table 10 minutes before it started) that I didn’t notice how much everyone was having a grand time until much later in the day. I was watching the clock and trying to remember everything that I wanted to say and trying to remember to thank all of my volunteers (Tammy Corso, Pam Hall, Sid Davis, and Donna Beaumier) and all of the Food & Beverage sponsors and the Partners who donated door prizes and where the restrooms are and coffee is over there and and and… Whew!

      Regards,

OK, enough, I’m envious already!!!   I know I’m from Plantation, Florida, but how can I join your group?  Meetings at Lambeau Field, awesome!

p.s.  I am a very minority owner of the Packers, does that qualify?

p.p.s.  Sorry about the Packers,  maybe next year.

      Thomas,

I think it was Bob McAdam wearing a Buccaneers jersey at our Kickoff meeting that jinxed the Pack!

While it would be mondo cool to have all of our meetings at Lambeau, the cost is too high. It was only because of three new Food and Beverage sponsors (Wolters Kluwer, Tribridge, and Wipfli) that we were able to swing it. It would not have been possible without them.

“Minority owner”… Heh! We were talking about the community ownership of the Packers during the meeting. We even had a stock ownership-related question in our GP Jeopardy game. Apparently, the Packers were grandfathered in to avoid being in non-compliance with the “no more than 32 owners” rule in the NFL. There are 10’s of thousands if not hundreds of thousands owners of the Packers!

You can certainly join the Green Bay Community here on GPUG!

      Regards,

Thank you, Béat! Now, if we can only come up with a way to galvanize growth in Montréal!
