D365 CE offers industry accelerators – one is for education and has pretty good assets to get you started. If you have a D365 license, you can get access to the full accelerator for free. More here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/industry/accelerators/edu-data-model
Just be aware, though, the accelerator will include portals in there as well – if you end up loving them and wanting to use them, you’ll need appropriate licensing (Power Pages).
All in all though, an excellent free tool to give you a massive head start for higher ed organizations.
